Change of plans, AGAIN!

Figures. Now tha the truck is 95% of the way there, I finally find the engine I wanted to start with. 4BT Cummins. Picked it up 2 weeks ago from a guy that parts the bread vans out. was an hour away, and I only paid $1200 bucks for it. 130K miles on it. Runs good, fired right up once we got the air ...

Re: Getting Dual wheels apart $@(!*

Re: OPOC engine - the future?

Yeah, Ive seen that before, it is a very neat concept. Only issue I see is how to oil the second piston way out there, but, Im sure you could do it. They also are working on an electronic turbo that uses a small high speed brushless motor to spool the turbo very fast, and then, it uses that same mot...

Re: Wippers old & new

Anthony,

Are you running your 24V wipers on 12V? I had 24V ones in mine, running on 12 when I converted to teh V8 and they were VERY slow.

Re: Best lube for winch preservation??

I've had good luck using a 50/50 mix of diesel and ATF to preserve and free old stuff, but, as Charlse said, it will probably leak out. It doesnt take much seat degredation for the winch to leak.

Lifer, I have aquired various baking pans for catching drain oil in the same manner... As to the original question, I bought a 13 gallon trash can with the flipper door and removable cap, pulled the flipper door off (the type that spins in a circle) and then used window screen. Take the ca...

Traded my little black Japanese toaster in for another Audi. :D I've named her Heidi. Had her for 3 days now and absolutely LOVE the car. Fantastic machine. Has the same build DNA and rock solid build quality that my S4 did, hopefully she will prove to be more reliable though. Hasthe APR chip alread...

Master Yota wrote:Could you duct air from the cowl vent to blow onto the back of the screws? Another option would be to redesign the side curtains under the hood to channel extra air into the engine compartment...

Hmm, those are good ideas. Might have to think more on those! :D

Re: Anyone know how to design a gasketed joint?

yeah, no hood scoop, lol. that was one of my original design criteria, it had to fit under the hood, and above the bottom of the frame. I gotta take some mesurements and see what kinf od room I have to work with.
