Front Hood & Body parts alignment
Can someone explain the process of aligning the front end sheet metal & related parts? I will be replacing my front fenders & while doing that, I want to align all the sheet metal parts. My hood currently sits cock-eyed to the side panels as well as the radiator & grill guards. The hood ...

Re: humvee wheel questions
Is this what you are looking to do? The PO had this done at a shop that is no longer in existance but the point is that it can be done. These are my 16.5 H1 rims with BUDD centers.

Re: Who Makes Speedo Cables?
If you have the end for the TC, go buy a universal 110" cable kit, cut it to the correct length & crimp the TC end on. I had no way to crimp mine so I used the 6 minute JB weld to "weld" the end on. Worked great, no problems with the cable so far. I think I spent less than 15 buck...

Re: How to Sweeten Up Combat Rims
What about soaking the rims in coca-cola? I have used this as a rust remover for 40 years or so. It's amazing what it will eat through... teeth included. The attached link will give you an idea of the power. PS... you can use the cheapest brand of brown soda with the same results. http://www.wimp.co...

Re: Fender welt install help
Thanks Bob, good idea about the additional securing of the rubber. NOW, on to the next question... do you have any photos of how the rubber should look for the lower portion of the fenders. My guess is it is riveted to the lower fender, with cut-outs made to go around the welded nuts? Would it be mo...

Re: Fender welt install help
Bob,
perfect description.
Thanks for the info. I just went out and set the welting on the fender, squished it down and I can totally understand it now.
Thanks again
Ken

Re: Fender welt install help
I fear that the 70's are starting to show the wear. I for the life of me cannot visualize how it should look. Actually I can visualize it but is seems really stupid to have used this shape of welting to achieve what I believe you are explaining. Can someone PLEASE send a picture showing the welt ins...

Re: Fender welt install help
Bob, since I have not seen the welt ever installed in person, I am not doubting your pictures but I am confused. Is it possible for you to get a picture of the side panel placed on the fender to show how the welt looks at that point? It just seems odd that the welting was designed to fold in half be...

door/window weatherstripping
OK, I need some advice please. With all the things I have had to fix, correct, fabricate or figure out how to do, I am at a loss regarding the weather stripping for the door windows. I ordered NOS WS sets & I have had nothing but problems trying to install it so the windows seal AND function pro...

Re: Fender welt install help
Gerry, Here are a few pictures I took to help try and explain. AGAIN, I am not 100% sure this is correct but it appears to be the only logical way to do this. Hopefully, someone else can post pictures of the welting installed to either confirm or falsify what I believe to be correct. Part of the iss...

window & windshield rubber installation help

Re: Clutch/Brake Pedal Dust Boot Questions
IF this picture posts.. then what I am to understand it that NO portion of the dust pad would protrude up into the cab through the floorboard? It all rides on the pedal, moving away from the floorboard when you depress on the pedal (leaving you with a hole in the floorboard) & then would come ba...

Hood/Cowel weather stripping
Does anyone have a picture of what this weather stripping is supposed to look like? I received some material that is simular in texture to the rear fender welting material, but with a slightly different profile. Is this correct? I assumed this would be a rubber seal. If this is the correct part, how...

Re: Clutch/Brake Pedal Dust Boot Questions
Refit, you bring up an interesting statement. The pads are held up against the floor bottom by the pedals, they don't fit into the slots. Are you saying that the pads are not actually held captive by the floor panels in any way? Does that mean that the pads actually stay in one place along the pedal...
