Re: Range on coil measurement values?

Find a shop with a real coil tester and check it out correctly. The primary & secondary Ohm readings will give you an idea on condition but the more reliable method is with a Coil & Capacitor test set. Also when taking the ohm readings be sure take both readings with the coil both cold and h...

Re: Keyed Electrical Disconnect

That's an intermittent rated switch. You need a continuous duty switch. Another option is to used a low amperage keyed dash switch and a remote continuous duty sealed relay. In aviation business this would be called a master switch that controls the master relay. These sealed 24 volt relays are easy...

Re: dodge m37 ignition switch

That will work but a word of caution, make sure that it's written somewhere so some good old buddy doesn't try to start the truck and run the battery down cause he wasn't aware of the extra switching.

Re: circut breakers

Jim, The M37 had a circuit breaker for the horn and a circuit breaker for the lights. The M37B1 had a horn circuit breaker only. The later model light switches had the circuit breaker built in. On both: The instruments were unprotected right off the ignition switch (except early M37 thru SN 80037412...

Re: What Trailer for my M?

The M101 for the 50 to 53 period would be a perfect match but are hard to find. The M101A1 from about 54 and up to about 68 would work just as good and from there on you must be careful which M101XX series you pick as the wheel and tire and the brake system changes.

Re: Does ORD STOCK NO mean anything??

From about 1941 thru about 1956 the ORD stock number was the system used to stock spare parts for everything the military owned. In the mid 50's they started the switch to the Federal Stock Number (FSN) system (XXXX-XXX-XXXX format). Then again in the 70's they modified the FSN to the National Stock...

Re: battery box and hookup

Someone added two 12 Volt taps for a couple of 12 volt accessories. If you are not using any 12 volt accessories then eliminate those two #12 wires. If you elect to keep them it would be wise to fuse them at the battery end connection with a fuse size appropriate to the accessory or if being kept as...

Re: Light issues

Depends on what type switch and how it is wired. Check for power to the switch. Then check for power out from the switch. The switch will usually have a circuit breaker built into or added to the back tip of the switch. This may be nuisance tripping or you may have a short that has left it permanent...

Re: light switch harness

TM 9-1825E covers the repair and replacement of that plug in great detail.

Usually the wires are soldered in the pins. Just de-solder and re-solder. If you find a crimped wire then cut it off flush and drill the core wire out and solder in the new.
