Re: Brake line flare
Hi John, I sorted through the same kinds of questions. All the lines from the main frame tee are 1/4" nominal tubing. The short line from the master cylinder to the frame tee is 5/16. I looked into buying pre-made steel sets from vendors such as Vintage Power Wagons and Midwest Military but I w...

Re: Brake line routing
Hi ZGjethro, Sorry I missed your question about the brand of nickel-copper alloy tubing that I used. I bought the NiCopp brand from either Napa or Autozone. The manufacturer is: http://agscompany.com/product-category/brake-fuel-transmission-lines/nicopp/ It looks like the Fedhill/Cunifer line is the...

Re: Brake line routing
Yes, the repair TMs, (TM 9 2320-212-34P and 20P, don't know what is the difference between them) does list the actual line lengths. I used these for the brake lines (at least for the ones I've done so far) and they do seem to match the actual lengths. I did a spreadsheet for the brake lines and I'll...

Re: Brake line routing
I'm about half way myself in installing new brake lines. In addition to the manuals that Ray noted, I found Figure 63 from the parts manual (TM 9 2320-21-34P or 20P) really very helpful. Figure 18 shows the fuel lines. I kinda went another way with the fuel lines in that I ran a single continuous li...

Re: tractor tires
I'd like to second the previous post (Tbone). I spent some time looking for tire options. The best internet prices I can find for 9.00-16 LT tires are from SimpleTire.com. The lowest seems to be the Jetzon Power King Premium Traction that they are listing for $167 plus $100 for shipping (to eastern ...

Re: Engine ID help
Thank you all for the posts. I've searched the internet and cannot find any references to an engine with this code, US 24-2977. The engine does have a bolted-in oil filler neck which based on other posts in this forum, seems to indicate that it was an engine supplied to the military. The rebuild tag...

Re: Repro M37 Parts - Newstar Catalog
Hi Folks, I purchased all new brake shoes, brake cylinders, and a master cylinder from Bob Stahl of Veteran Vehicles earlier this year. All of the parts were from Newstar. Some items were marked as manufactured in Taiwan and some were USA. It seems from their website that you can apply to become one...

Engine ID help
Hi Folks, I'm new to the group and I've been looking around at vehicles for sale in my area (Eastern New England). I looked at one today and I can't seem to figure out what engine it had. The code stamped on the block (driver's side, just down from the front) says "US . 24-2477". There is ...
