Re: Navy M37's
I was told that mine was an Air force unit transferred to the army. It is Olive on top of blue, you can see the blue where the green is peeling. The wheels were yellow, and I am told that this means it was a line truck on the runway. Can anyone confirm whether the yellow wheels mean that it was used...

Re: Any experiance using RockAuto Brake slave & master Cylin
I had actually ordered a left front, but again the mounting issues. After I had liberated the rounded and jammed bleeder on it, it was found to be generally serviceable so just swapped the bleeder from the ordered part. The bleeder was good on the rear, but the aluminum plugs showed signs of corros...

Re: Any experiance using RockAuto Brake slave & master Cylin
So for the fronts the Raybestos ones from Rockauto are no good. The line port is to low for the line to attach without the knuckle being in the way. Good news, the front one was good, and I sacrificed the guts of the rockauto one to rebuild the right rear w/c. Corvette style M/C's are a bit wide, b...

Re: Any experiance using RockAuto Brake slave & master Cylin
1. The Mojave is hot. 2. Mr. Fedex came early. The wheel cylinder looks like the ones that are on my '53, minus the puked dot3 all over it from the one it's replacing. Raybestos WC3595 is on the box. More to come after this weekend of eventually successful brake work. If everything works out, I'll ...

Re: Any experiance using RockAuto Brake slave & master Cylin
I should be getting it in today. I haven't been able to drive the truck muck do to a complete lack of brakes. I also learned the hard way that the parking brake for these is not a good way to stop either, but with the lockouts off and the front engaged, she coasts pretty well to a stop. I will say ...

Re: Any experiance using RockAuto Brake slave & master Cylin
Leo, I have bought from Rock Auto with mixed results. I have since then gone back to dealing with my local NAPA store, please keep in mind that they also carry the cheaper discount priced parts for customers that only shop by price. I normally will pick the premium brands and you can see the differ...

No input at all? Really!
Do I understand correctly that no one of the 30 that have looked at the post has used anything but the NOS brake slave cylinders that MWM sells. No one? No one at all?
There must be someone out there that has used something else? Napa? had them re-sleeved? Anything?

Any experiance using RockAuto Brake slave & master Cylinders
Has anyone tried using the brake cylinders or master cylinders offered by Rock Auto on their M37? I would love to purchase made in the USA parts from Mid West, but money is a factor right now. I am therefore looking at alternatives such as the ones advertised on RockAuto.com. Has anyone used RockAut...

Re: Military spark plug wires to ward off rat damage?
Thanks Bob. Actually rats do BILLIONS of $$ of damage to car wiring every year. Bills range from $1K to over $11K with the average being $4k! The worst problem is seen in New York City!!! Thank God I live in the country where we apparently have less Rats then the city  One interesting note is...

Military spark plug wires to ward off rat damage?
I have an M37 that someone put a civilian distributor into; without also changing to the civilian oil pump. I was going to go ahead and put a civilian oil pump into it to prevent the wobbling distributor from doing even more damage to the block’s distributor bushing when it occurred to me tha...
