Re: 226 miles in just under 8 hours

My Carryall has a motor from an M37 and it gets just a shade more than 10mpg cruising at 45-46 mph.

Re: Tire question

Just asked my tire guy about that yesterday. All tubes are radial/bias ply don't worry about it. A better tube for bias would probably be natural rubber but your never going to find one of those. And he assembled my tire with the tube I had.

I love your little LED modification. Its going to be interesting to see how it works out. You may want to put some sort of diffuser in there to blur out the pixels.

Do you try freeing it by spinning the crankshaft or pressurizing a cylinder?

Re: ROLL CALL-WHERE IS EVERYONE?

Thanks! It was fun. Well, now I say it was fun. At the time, it was stressful 'cause I'd never done anything like that before. SO it was one of those "Lets try this.." Kinda' deals.

Re: ROLL CALL-WHERE IS EVERYONE?

So I put the stars on the WC53 and you know what? They work! Now, when I drive by, all sorts of people smile and wave. https://www.eskimo.com/~jimlee/Home/Carryall_Blog/Entries/2018/5/20_Minor_adjustments_files/shapeimage_7.png I tried to make them look like they've been on the truck from the start....

Re: M-37 / R-2 Rescue

I have stock gearing in my M37 and I cruise at 47mph according to the speedo. But, my motor is pretty new and has been balanced. Its entire driveline runs really smooth. On my carryall, theoretically the same setup, 45 is about it. The motor just doesn't seem to run as smooth and the driveline still...

Re: ROLL CALL-WHERE IS EVERYONE?

I get the same response when I'm out with my M37. I actually get moms with young kids wanting to go for rides in it when they see me at the store parking lot. And its "sure hop in!" Off we go around the block. Its funny, they never seem to think, "Can I trust this guy?". They jus...

Mine was a few years ago so I don't even remember. I only remember being surprised that it was so much less than the one that died. Just give 'em a call and see what their current deal is.

Re: Rebuild time on the 230 flat head engine

Or you can do what myself and 52 M-42 did. Call Midwest Military. They will have a new motor sitting at your place within 2 weeks. (For me it was 2 weeks 'cause I'm on the far North west coast away from them) Swap in te new motor, get it running, then tie your old motor to the pallet and call them. ...
