Re: New Noise

Same noise with the belt off, and after torquing the manifold (several nuts were loose).

New Noise

Sounds like it's coming from the dizzy. I don't think it's the generator or water pump. This is at idle:

Re: Windshield Hold-down Bracket?

You’re missing the hold down latches. They look like the hold down latches for the hood but with a different handle. Midwest Military has them im sure.

Re: Grandpa’s M37

1st Parade!
I was worried about engine temps but that was not an issue. Hardest part was finding a good gear. 1st Low was too slow, 2nd low was too fast. I needed a 1 1/2 gear!

Re: Engine paint color

I’ve heard from several sources the engines were Chrysler Silver when they left the factory.

Re: Transfer Case Output Seal

None, it is an interference fit. Once you put one on you’ll see there is no need for sealant.

Re: Transfer Case Output Seal

You can repair it by removing the flange. Most likely the seal has worn some grooves into the shaft. You’ll want to redi sleeve it as well as installing a new sleeve. Not a hard job, as long as you have big cheater bars.

Re: New to me '52 M37

Before cutting up the threads with the stud remover, did you try red loctite on the outer nut?

Re: Drag Link Removal

Basically, except the pieces won’t fall out. Put the arms on the bench and note how the springs and plates come out the end of tubes.

Re: Grandpa’s M37

Thanks, I might use copper or brass for the rivets so they don’t rust. And easy to get.

Re: Grandpa’s M37

I got these in the mail finally. Not great. Missing holes on one, and the service plate holes are way off.
What kind of fasteners are folks using? Aluminum rivets?
