I just checked my repair manual. In the specifications it lists transmission make: Canadian Acme Model T98.
The PTO if it has one is Canadian Acme Model 4867

I have a service manual for the Cdn trucks and can scan some pages for you if need be.
They are almost identical to the US version except for the transmisssion as Charles has mentioned, the PTO if it has a winch, the 251 engine and them some other body related minor differences .

I am on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, so am unsure of what shipping will be like if you are in the US. 2 24v starters 1 transmision floor cover 1 clutch/brake pedal assy 1 transfer case lever assy 1 new winch brass g...

Hey MM
I was looking on line at browns gas generators and it was interesting. Do you have a site or set of plans you are working from? I would mind experimenting withit myself.

Hey Rick, Sorry about that. Lifer has pointed you in the right direction. The bottom link he posted is for Colin Stevenson in Vancouver BC. It would be worth an email to him about markings. You may also want to enquire on the MapleLeaf Up forum. It is primarliy WW2 Cdn vehicles but there are some M3...

This is probably the best site around. I dont think other than the 251 engine, ACME transmission, RH mirror and the convoy light, there was much difference. Oh, the Cdn version was not set up for a soft top. Many didnt have the slotted bracket on the windshield or the windshield hold downs on the ho...

I am going to drag a spare 24V starter I have over to a rewind shop and see what they can do. I will also call VPW and check into the ones they have. I found an Orpin series/parallel switch and may consider using it. I will have to also scrounge some of th eolder auto wreckers and see if there is an...

replacement starter

I have been looking for a 12volt starter for my M37. They seem to be difficult to find. I have found a 12 v direct replacement for th e24v but it was $400.
Any thoughts or ideas out there or is this what I am going to pay. Does anyone still remanufacture 12v or 6v starters?
Thanks

Thanks to both of you for the feedback. I was hopeful there was a magic easy solution, but in the end doing it right will pay off. I am going to get a local shaft to replicate a new shaft from SS. I can get new seals from a local supply house.

PTO shifter shaft

My PTO shifter shaft is dinged up a bit around the seal surfaces and also has some corrosion. AS a result I am getting more oil leakagee than I want. Other than a new shaft does anyone have any ideas on how I might refurbish what I have? Speedi sleeves wont work as they are ( I think ) designed for ...
