is it possible to mount the spare on the passenger side door? I'm not that familiar with the setup but would think the swingarm would work if mounted on other side. The advantage of changing the axles is you get disk brakes up front. Conversion to disk in rear for a relatively low cost and in my case 4.10 gearing. definite points to consider WIth the axle swap you get better brakes, better gearing and better choice of rims and tires just buying the 489's would...

i outboarded the spring on the passenger side. Seemed easier than sending the axle out to get shortened.

Ive already swapped the axles. I'm fairly certain the humvee 8 bolt pattern will fit any early 90's and down 8 bolt axle.

Plan to shorten MM and attach to a 3/4" DD shaft. The attachment for this will be close to the firewall so the outer jacket will need shortening. Will have to cut the outer jacket and need to make a spacer. Has anyone used the snake river spacer?
