Can someone tell me how to adjust the idle speed or tell me where in the manuals it is? Did a search here with no luck.
Thanks,

you can use an inductive tachometer, powered by a separate 12V battery, and replace one of the wires with a standard non-shielded wire, or use a spare wire or one with damaged shieding and pull the shield off in a section so you can access the core. inductive tach won't pick up the signal on a shielded cable.
you can also use a tach/dwell meter and read it right off the coil by pulling the big cover nut on the distributor housing and running your lead to there. you could also use a strobe on the fan, or a light sensing pickup on a fan blade.
but really what i do is just turn it down till it won't idle smooth and then turn it up just a hair

Hi Gerry,
Idle speed of 600 - 650 works nicely.
If you have a vacuum gauge available it would be a good time to adjust your idle mixture screw for maximum vacuum, since your adjusting your idle speed.
