Heater hose diameter?

Finishing my manifold, and I need to add a couple of hose barbs to the coolant passage to keep it from icing. What's the stock heater hose size? I'm planning to run the coolant through the manifold by splicing into the hose before it hits the heater, but I don't rememeber what size the hose is and I don't want to drive across town to measure it...

that is beautiful Isaac !
I wonder if the tight transition from the 2 bolt flange to the intake runners will hurt flow? would a larger diameter collector(?) ease the transition. hmm what about a 4 bolt weber flange and a boxy collector?

you're right, probably some analysis in this area would not be a bad idea. i kept it this way so i could maintain stock dimensions, although my truck does have a 3" body lift so i could have lifted the carb 3" at least, and probably helped the flow at the transition area. I "should" be able to do some flow analysis in solidworks and try to come up with a better design. This one is very close to stock dimensions in that area though, so at worst it should still be about as good as stock.

After a little reading of other guys installing heaters, it looks like 5/8" is the standard heater hose ID on these
No turbo, will strongly consider making a place for one if I build another

DO IT !
if you do and you are satisfied with the results I would be interested in one for my 230
Its Flathead Turbo Power time
