I have a 71 Power wagon with a 5.7 Hemi/ 727 / 205. I wanted this one to have no electronics at all, but the 5.7 is a good choice for these trucks.

"Narrowing the diff is pretty straight forward, the long side just needed 3.5 inches cut off."

I just wanted to point out for others following 57Hemicuda's excellent work that his front Dodge DRW Dana 60 is about 2.5" narrower than the DRW GM version. Taking off 3.5"a front GM Dana 60 version would make the H1 rims stick out 1.25" further per side.

What an excellent, professional build. I can only dream of being such a master fabricator some day. Outstanding.

I am not really sure what the back rear came out of, I went to a local junk yard with a tape measure, and started measuring the pile of 8 lug rears. I know its not out of a dually because its a 60, not a 70. If I remember right it was 71" wbs to wbs.

When you made the modifications to the Dana front axle, did you go with a positive caster angle? With the different tires and power steering, seems like you would want some positive angle, instead of the 2-1/4 degrees of negative angle that the original Chrysler front axle was designed with.

I did not change the caster on the front diff at all. It cruises 70 mph with the 37" tires with no wandering at all. The tires haven't ever been balanced, and it still cruises nice.
