Transmission Question

I did a search and found some posts. But I am still confused as to what the early M37 transmission looks like vs the later B1 model.

Here are some pictures of the two transmissions I have right now. One is my friends and the other my spare.

Are these early or late?

This might help you identify the transmissions you have .

Also notice the location of the filler plug on both. The early tranny has it on the drivers side and the later has it on the passengers side. Hope this helps you

So judging by that these are both early. Alan

I always look at the top cover, shifter cone first.

If the top cover has two pins to guide the shifter stub its a late model. If you only have one pin its an early model.

Great reply Sal, I was just wondering what mine was and hadn't really looked into. And it pops right up here. Thanks
