You must have looked at the wrong place, or talked with the wrong person. We buy from them frequently. They have them.
Can you send me the dimensions; I'll help you out.

Charles,
Others are looking for these studs too, at least I am! Does McMaster Carr have them or do they not?
Thanks,
Tim

Tim,
Here is the info I ended up with from Charles. I actually just installed them in the winch yesterday and they look good. Wont be putting on my truck for a while though,Well it appears McMaster-Carr has stopped furnishing these. Their stock now jumps from 1/2" to 5/8" on diameter.
"I looked back in my files; what we did last time was from Dorman. Their local jobber is CarQuest Auto Parts. The part number we use is 675-046. This is a box of 10, grade 8 studs. They are slightly longer at 2 1/2". I looked at a winch we had at the shop this afternoon and the studs in it are actually too short, so these may be closer to what you need anyway as far as length. If they do come up a little long, you can just grind the ends off after assembly. This part# will get them at CarQuest; "
Thanks again Charles,

McMaster-Carr is apparently no longer offering this type of stud was my finding when I checked some weeks back. We did find them at the local CarQuest with whom we deal a lot; under the Dorman Product line.

Hi Charles,
Thanks for the lead on the Dorman products. Do you have the part number you used? I checked with my local parts guys today, the closest thing they could find was a stud 2 1/2" long, and coarse thread on both ends as opposed to the correct coarse / fine mix at 2 5/16" long. (I figured 2 5/16 would be tough to find, but 2 1/4" would be fine) The number they gave me for the 2 1/2" stud (coarse x coarse) is 675-046
Thanks,
Tim
