There are places that specialize in gas tank repair, but they can be hard to find. Most radiator shops can also handle the job.

Do a search on the net for this spelling. They have franchise operations all across the US. They offer a lifetime warranty when it is coated inside and out. Once it is coated, the outer surface is paintable.

There was a company I found out of NJ, I think. I had my M-38 tank boiled and coated at the local radiator shop. Cost me about $300, I thought a little high, but what are you going to do?

Tank Connector?

Got mine RENU'd, pretty ugly. They had to cut 2 holes, one on each side of the baffles, shot peened it, welded, and coated inside and outside with a very thick black coating. Put the tank in, and found a leak right at the rear drain plug - forgot to solder. Be sure to have them check that!
The local parts store sold me a 6" Goodyear radiator hose for a replacement to connect to the filler pipe. Doesn't sound right to me? Seems like there would be a fuel line hose?

There is a correct hose for gasoline application, this correct type hose is available at NAPA. A radiator hose will work for a short time, however will become gummy & start to separate with repeated exposure to gas or diesel bringing with it the usual horrors of hose deterioration.

Charles - thanks for the catch. NAPA has the 2 1/4" ID fuel filler hose (p/n 1055) for future reference. My old piece, or what's left of it, looks like 4" length - 2 clamps.
