Has anyone put an alarm of any sort on an M37? If so like what? I would like to have something like that on mine, but don't know how I should go about it..

Any ideas?

I have a low oil pressure and high temperature alarms going to the
annunciator, I dont think that this is what you mean though.
They use Murphy gauges that have variable set points on them.
My stock gauges all work though, just a good comparison and
it lets me know (audibly) if I'm not paying close enough attention.

Are you referring to an anti-theft alarm? If so, they're available almost anywyere and are pretty easy to install. I don't know if there are any available in 24-volt, though. Never had a reason to ask until now.

Check at your nearest full-service truck stop (Flying J, etc.). Many, if not most, over-the-road rigs have 24-volt systems, so I'd imagine that they would have the alarm you're looking for. I have no idea how much one would cost, though.

I used to have a 200lb Saint Bernard that wasnt too freindly and thought it was his truck. Worked quite well. Our 30 lb pug has a nasty bark and he also thinks it's his truck,and no one has challenged him yet!

Something like a battery switch, but hidden under the dash, in an obscure location.

I would more like to know when someone is out on it...I don't think someone will be able to steal it, but I don't want anyone messing around in it either....

Have you considered door locks? That would at least keep the intrepid 8 year old from rolling it down a hill (invariably into a vehicle infinitely more expensive).

I just got an answer from LoJack - of COURSE they have a product for us It's only $870 for one truck (24 V), cheaper per truck as you do more.

What kind of locks could I use? I would like it to look as original as possible....

I installed a battery cut off switch in the negative cable that goes to the battery.

It seves two purposes. First it allows you to disconnect all voltage out of your truck wiring.

That is a good idea from a safety point, if your wiring is original.

Second, the switch I went with is heavy duty and has a provision for a padlock.

It doubles as a anti-theft device.

I didn't know that they came with a locking option? Good information!!
