what an incredible accomplishment you have achieved, with all the tasteful modifications to make your truck truly one of a kind. I am rather limited in my own abilities, and actually pat myself on my back when I change my oil on one of my vehicles without spilling dirty oil on my driveway. I really like your truck.

cam gear was chewed up replaced with old one and old chain ,new chain from vpw was
NOT RIGHT
remember when I thought I had a rod knock ,I bought a KNOCK new old stock from vintage power wagons

12 volt starter question
if I swap to a civy fly wheel will the 6/12 volt starter perform properly and haven enough reach to have the teeth mesh
and any one wanna buy a 24 volt starter
starter 1 rebuilt, needs switch and to have arm welded $100
starter 2 nos started truck less than 10 times $225
starter 3 nos but starter drive is frozen to armature shaft due to improper storage $200
starter 4 nos never used $250

on my 251, i swapped the bell housing, transmission, ring gear, and starter. used the flywheel and clutch from the 251. installed in a civvy power wagon and used the 6v starter on 12V system. so far, it's working good.

i put a military 251 in my civilian powerwagon, it was a bit of an undertaking and i had to pull the motor 3 times before i got the right combo of parts
