I'm sure there are more backhoe stories that are floating around than most care to admit too. I was about 14 when my Dad and I used a backhoe to forcibly remove the rear fender from his year-old new Dually pickup. That was a lesson is "self-control" that was impressive to see!

Have you moved all of your stuff into the pole barn? I thought for sure that we would of seen pictures of the M in her new home by now.

Well Bert, not all my stuff, loads of shop and machine equipment to be moved. I have been bringing loads of boxed truck parts but still have many to go as well as my books. Can't lift as much as I could before my surgery and have to rely on neighbors and friends for help with the heavy items like work benches, air compressor and several generators. The M is indoors now along with Sandy's car and my Chevy pick-up. My small compressor is in along with a recently gifted electric over hydraulic engine hoist.

looks like a lot of "Growing Room" there?

Bruce my friend you are correct, need to "grow" a bunch of shelves, cabinets and other storage so I can get the stuff off the floor. Been cold here 9 to 15 f in the mornings so need to haul my wood stove here and get that fired and make the shop warm enough to do woodwork and paint the engine hoist before what is cleaned begins to rust .

Now that's a garage........
I like your engine hoist, somewhat more beefy and automated than what I have. So, where is the M1a1 Abrams going tp parK??

Tony, it's the garage I have always wanted and until now never could afford but it's still to small to house all of my rolling stock...tractor. dump truck, tandem axle trailer and the M1a1 Abrams still sit out. About the hoist, my neighbor lady had it and thought I could give it a good home, had been her husbands who passed last year. It began as one of these http://morsedrum.com/lit/400.pdf but he modified it into a hoist for other purposes.

It looks like you need metal shelving for all of your stuff. I'm glad to see that you are making progress in your new dream garage.
Be careful walking on that floor with snow on your boots, I can tell you from experience that it will be like walking on ice.

Bert, I have several shelf units that need to be brought from my other building and am waiting 'til the rain and turkey day are over also need to build timber shelves with what I have here from the house and garage build. Have to empty the other place first so we can get it on the market then I will have time to concentrate on organizing my new one.

Thanks for the slippery floor comment, never thought of that, don't need to fall and break my back again, one repair surgery is enough.

Carter, Just inside the doors to my own shop I have used some left over concrete sealer and aquarium sand to make a rough patch leading to the mat. Slick floors are slick floors whether they be from snow or rain or spilled glycol, the effect is the same. None of us need that.

Garage looks great. It absolutely swallows up your M37 and pickup....they look like 2 Matchbox cars in a shoebox. Nice.

Bob T that is a good idea, I have left over sealer and will get some sand to do what you did. Might be somewhat difficult to sweep but worth it to keep from slipping and falling, should have thought of that my self but was so happy with the finished floor I never considered the it to be a hazard.

Bob B, Yes it is large but as noted in my other post to MM would have liked one with room for all my fleet, just did mot have the $$$ and local zoning limited the size to not larger than the house, to bad I can't stack truck on top of truck.
