Started getting the front end back on, and got the Humvee wheels installed. The color was a little bold, but I kind of dig it.

Got the steering column and automatic transmission shifter in. The shifter looks like it belongs there, came out of an old Dodge motorhome. Cable shifter for the win.

Your build is getting better and better, a real benchmark for anyone thinking of doing something similar.....

Did manage to get the Powerlok rebuilt and the 4:56 gears installed in the back rear. Should have it installed tomorrow.

Couldn't find any big 3.5" spring perches for a 2" spring so I made some out of 2x4 1/4 wall box tubing.

Finally got the back rear in, and a wheel mounted. Loving the look. Need to get it all one color.

Rear, driveshaft and the rest of the stuff to make it move.

Its funny, I tried to keep it somewhat old school. A kind of, what Chrysler Corporation may have put in a 1968 M37, if they had their choice of parts. Roadrunner engine, 727 trans, and 205 transfer case with power locked Dana 60's. I even went as far as to use old Dodge motorhome shifter, and she has no electronics at all. Points, manual voltage regulator, and manual choke. The Hummer wheels are just tough looking and super functional with the run flats.

I have built some high end muscle cars, and several race cars, but this thing is just cool. Chrysler and the Army got it right when they put the styling on this thing, way under powered, but super tough. With the mods I'm hoping to be able to drive it anywhere. I'll post the driving impressions as soon as I have them.

Started working on the E-brake, got the brackets made. Put the handle on the drivers side of the transmission for less clutter. Turned out pretty good I think. Will sandblast and powder coat them tomorrow.

Got the Ebrake stuff powder coated today. I also made a pattern for the exhaust out of 2" pvc pipe, which I took to my local exhaust shop. They bent the pipe, it fit like a glove, Used the small, long Flowmasters to keep the noise down, they sound pretty quiet, and look pretty clean. Less then $350 in the whole deal. Still need to reinstall the crossmember, but tomorrow is another day.

This thing looks great , definitely an inspiration !
