If you look on the bed on the center metal uprights that the seat backs are bolted on about 4 inches up there are a welded nut with a bolt in it, yours may not have a bolt in it but there is hole in the stantion with a nut welded on the inside on each middle upright above the rear fender, I have called all the experts on the m37 and no one can give me an answer, does anyone know?

Based on your description, I believe this is to secure the ridge pole when the canvas top to the bed is removed.

Hal, you are the second one to tell me that, how is it secured ? and with the roof bows stowed behind the cab like they are supposed to be it looked like the ridge pole would not fit or line up , must have some type of off set bracket to raise it above the roof bows, need some more input, thanks Geraldo.
