Seems only possible with repolarizing the generator and swapping out the gauges. If it was upgraded to an alternator, nope.

I'd like to see what happens if it was slave cable started...

Also watch out for your regulator. If you've got the solid state regulator you'll blow it if you try to hook it back up the 'right' way. I don't know how the mechanical regulator will react.

Yes, the SS regulators will not tolerate even a moment's reverse polarity.

The mechanical ones will follow the generator if it is polarized first.
