is there is spec or reccomended torque for the 3/8 cap screws bolts that jold on the worm shaft
Bearing retainers? Is 30 ft lbs too much?

US recommended torque specs are:

3/8" Coarse thread grade 5 is: 23 lb-ft
3/8" Fine thread Grade 5 is: 26 lb-ft
3/8" Course thread Grade 8 is 33 lb-ft
3/8" Fine thread Grade 8 is 37 lb-ft
