Gas in Filter Before Carb

We were fighting vapor locking but with a new heat shield over the mechanical pump, moving some fuel lines away from the exhaust manifold and adding insulated shielding to the fuel lines near the engine the truck doesn't seam to be vapor locking. There is a steel filter near the new stainless steel fuel tank. We have a clear WIX 33002 filter just before the carb but not over the manifold.
We are running a new civilian fuel pump that has a glass bowl glass bowl.

When starting up the engine cold, the WIX filter near the carb fills almost full with gas. Once every thing is warmed up with the engine running very little fuel can be seen in this filter. Is that normal?

Thanks

Agreed-remember, the carb needle valve will prevent too much fuel in the float bowl. :)

an equilibrium is established between the carb's needs and the level of fuel in the filter. I did not do well in college science courses, so I can't explain how it does this. NV
