Dwell RPM and Vacuum

Can you tell me what most people use on the 230 for Dwell angle, RPM at idle and what the vaccum should be?

I just bought a Harbor Freight tach and Dwell Multi meter. Dwell is running at 38 degrees and the idle looks to be 840 Rpms which seems a bit high.

I realize there are some good brand name used meters on ebay and I would rather have an analog meter rather than digital. I'm just leery about buying used electronics.

Thanks

Hi Delta, sorry for the delay-I wanted to get my 9-8030 manual to be sure.
So, points gap should be .020 thousandths. The TM doesn't list anything for dwell; however, I recall in every tach/dwell situation I worked on as a much younger man, dwell always worked out best at 30 degrees. (I loved those old GM distributors with the adjustment door on the Distributor cap)! As an added FYI, the TM timing spec indicates 2 degrees AFTER TDC.
