We don't have a tank yet but we are replacing the fuel lines. In the original configuration with the vent line connecting to the carburetor, was there some sort check of valve in the vent line
in case there was ever a fire in the carburetor? Thanks

No. But a carb fire couldn't make it to the tank through the line. It could never be made stoiciometric.
