Towing Vehicles???

Hey Crew.
Question. What are anyone and everyone's thoughts on using a converted school bus for a tow vehicle. Since we tow Lori's M37 to parades and events I'm thinking about something larger than our F-350 to tow with. Something you could stretch out in if necessary.

What I don't like about a bus is all the overhand behind the rear axle. I'm thinking about "bobbing" or "chopping" the tail. Any thoughts?

Krazy? Yes, I resemble that remark. :?

I have seen some kool busses. Don't need anything this fancy though.

It's your money. Use it when you want to.

Well, They are cheap to buy, parts are abundant, they get generally piss poor fuel mileage and they are ugly. Yup, that pretty much describes most of what we own except for the parts availability.

Just remember that a school bus has had a hard life as far as start, stop, start, stop,. Over and over and over. So even though they are usually pretty well maintained the transmissions in them have been through hell.

What about something like an F350 van? Strong enough for towing, flat surface in back (or put a pair of fold-down stretchers on each side wall)....

Just saw a video on a forum I watch about bus conversions and a guy bought three school buses at auction in Fla. for 800.00 each! Not all that bad shape either. I would go for the short bus with the handicap lift if you can find one. probably a bit more money but that hydraulic platform lift is nice.
