At some point in a swap of parts years ago I got a set of original brake shoe linings. There were enough in the box to do one axle.

The old shoes from my truck were the bonded type but were drilled for the rivets. Of course over the years the original rivets in the open box got gone before I even got them.

I would like to use these linings and install them on my old shoes. The manual calls for a 3/16 x 13/32.

I am guessing the 3/16 is the shank diameter of the tube part of the rivet and the 13/32 is the length of the rivet.

Looking online at rivets they also want to know the head diameter and hole depth.

Anyone know what size of rivets they used when they did their brake linings?

Do you have the special brake lining riveting fixture? From experience i can say the job is exponentially more difficult without it.

I do have the old school rivet tool. I have used it a number of times.

I just thought someone might already know the correct rivet to order. I can start measuring the shoes and the lining to figure out a close match.

the shoe part number is 89. either B89 for bonded or R89 for riveted. any relining shop will know what rivets you need. cascade friction in tacoma wa or brake and clutch supply in Seattle (same owners)
