Pinion Carrier Lock Nuts

In my M37 build thread I mentioned finding Ny-lock nuts on 4 differential carriers.
Poking around the M37 parts manual I ran across this bit of into:
Soo... when the trucks went though the rebuild process would it not make sense to change early ones from nuts with lock washers to lock nuts?

Perhaps that reference is to a split flange or upset nut? There are many locking type nuts that don't use a nylon or fiber insert.

Yeah that's why I didn't jump on saying they were Nylocks. If we could figure out what the 'CST' means in the description it might help.

From page 5 of my parts manual. Chemical Surface Treatment. The manual shows S CST. Or Steel, Chemical Surface Treatment.
In my world, Carbon STeel. As opposed to SS or PSt

back then it was probably not nylocks but the all steel type. I prefer the all steel type as they seem to service better later on. nylocks I have had gaul up on me. I would switch when rebuilding.
