Looking at using a 1972 W300 axel and drivetrain for my 1953 M37.

Looking for opinions

It is wider than the M37 axle set.

I'm using an axle set from an 89 3/4 ton. Believe they are a dana 44 front and 60 rear. They are wider. rear needs the spring pads relocated. front I offset the passenger spring 1.5". fairly standard mod with these axles. Search the forum and a bunch of threads will come up.

Yep what superbee70 said. The rear spring pads do not need much movement as it will look like a direct bolt in, but after you get them in you'll see that the springs will start to bend in a little and go out of alignment and that's why you need to relocate the perches. The front is just like he said move the front passenger spring out 1.5 inches.
