Hi Guys,

What does the correct valve stem cap look like for the M37? Is it the type that has the tool to remove the Schrader valve on it.........or just a regular metal cap? ORD says it's part number 2316, but can't find any info or a pic of it. It lists the valve stem as TR-177a, for which there is plenty of info about on the web........just nothing about the cap.

thanks,
bob

Hi Bob,
I'll check David Doyle's Dodge book later today and post whatever I can find for you.

Hi Bob,
A day late-hope this helps. David Doyle's reference material photos all show the cap appearing to be metal with a slight domed top. There is no valve stem remover on it in any of the photos. There is no text indicating the cap NSN, etc. that I could find.

Hey there Bob,
Interesting, I had a tough time finding tubes for the Truck here in Canada.
I ended up sourcing Radial Tubes with TR440 Values.

They sure appear to be similar to the originals.
Have you guys had any past experience with substitution Tubes ?

Oh, oh, I think I just found my answer thanks to google.
It appears that the TR 440 is 3.35" long and replaces the TR75A
The TR 441 is 4.13" and replaces the TR177A.

Looks like the 440 will be almost 1/2 an inch short.

New here, my fist post and my 2 cents!

The metal ones may have come from the factory, but most Motor Pool people would replace them with the tool version when ever they replaced them. We could never have enough of those little tools around when we started to work tires!
