Can anyone tell me the number of flexible lines needed to do redo the brake system? I see suppliers sell 2 long and 2 short lines, but I read somewhere that you need 3 of one length and 1 of the other. Can anyone give me some insight on what need? Has anyone used the Napa 4000 and 4900? Do they fit? I ordered new cylinders from Napa and I wanted to try the hoses, but I'm not quite sure what I need.Any problems with them not being armored coated or whatever it is called with lack of a better term spring wrapped around it. I just got my first 37 and let's just say I have a lot of learning to do.

I don't know on the lengths but you can get the armored ones from midwest mil or VPW. I have noticed the parts store hoses these days are wimpy Chinese garbage.

2 long and 2 short on mine.

instructions in box said

warm to room temp before installation to avoid cracking or breakage

that will work good on a cold winter day when you hit the brakes

There are 4 flexible brake lines (hoses) and all have the spring or "armor" covering. 3 are the same length and the 4th line is a different length. I don't have an ORD 9 handy, so I can't tell you which line is different, but I think three are shorter and one is longer. Most folks who sell the lines give you two short and two long, as being a little longer doesn't hurt anything. The current reproduction hoses are made in China, but I don't know how good they are.

So.....do the lines need to be spring or armor covered? The spring cover is there to prevent abrasion to the lines from rocks, sticks, etc. if you don't drive off-road you don't need the covering.
