Jeep Tools?? (hub puller)

Hey Crew.
Forgive me as I haven't been around for a while. We are getting ready to put new brakes on our old Willys. If some of you remember this is the rig that sat next to the Mississippi river and went under water several times. I will be replacing every brake component on the Jeep.
My question today is about hub pullers. I read and watched a video about a puller with 5, not 3 legs?? What do you Guys think and where is the best place to purchase one?? I'm ready to get started but want to do it right. Thanks in advance.

The three legged ones work fine, I have an old one that I've used since the 70's and its not failed me!

The three leg is not limited to what it will work on. Been using mine on Jeep, International and Ford for decades. Just remember that a hammer is part of the tool. The hub's won't come off with just puller pressure.

Hey Guys!
Truck drivers like hammers! Thanks for the reply's. Found one at O'Reilys and one online!
Cashy little boogers! Gotta' have one though. OTC is the brand that seems to have the best reviews.

I like the 3-leg pullers with the cage around them, keeps the legs aligned and ensured there's no way they can ever pop off. They sure are pricey compared to a cheap universal 3-jaw though.

This is what I was thinking of, I've never used it to pull a hub but if a 3-jaw will work this should work as well. They come in many sizes, and priced accordingly, so get one big enough to do the job but not way bigger

On my three legged puller, the legs have holes in them and you put them on the lug bolts, secure them with the lug nuts instead of on the outside of the hub. After tightening it down if you hit it on the end of the center bolt, the hub will usually pop off.

Sorry, didn't mean to confuse the issue :) agreed, a hub puller is probably better suited than a "universal" puller

OK Crew!
Got me convinced, what I need is a "hub" puller an not a gear or pulley puller like I have.
Here is what I found and will most likely order tomorrow.
The brand name is OTC and I found them at O'Reilly & Summit Racing.
You can also order 2 extra legs if you need to pull on all 5 lugs. Any thoughts?

I have one, and when you need it, you need it. The extra two legs are good to have, too, but pricey.

You might be able to get the OTC 7394 for less at places like Tooltopia or Amazon.

Hey Elwood.
I'll do some more checking around on the price. Looks to be well-built.
Remember, it's not for me, it's for my Lori!
Trying to keep her in the lifestyle she's become accustomed to! :P

Hey "DJ" & Crew.
I'll check it out and thinks for all the help. Need to save $$$ any way I can!! I never thought we'd go this far on the old Willys but she deserves to have another life.
With the Jeep on the back burner it almost time to get the M37 ready for the Veteran Day parade in Quincy Illinois.
