Image the stories they'd tell.
Hi Guys,
Yesterday I had some time to kill, so I did a little investigative sanding on the tailgate of my Army M. I was hoping to find the unit number and maybe a star or two......but came up totally empty. But.......it sure was interesting seeing how many different paint jobs the truck has had during its life. Check out the pic below.......she's been painted 6 times, 4 by the military and twice by Fire Departments. What I also found interesting was the chronology of the paint colors. I think I can identify the original and 2nd OD repaint.......but the first OD repaint (labeled "Light OD repaint") is throwing me for a loop. What color is that??? The other thing I find interesting is the lack of a primer coat before the first paint job at the factory....unless it was so thin it's just not showing up. I'd sure love to know where this old girl has been to have been painted so many colors.
