Cams are magical mystery math. What are you trying to do? Most of the times, for basically stock engines, they are wasted expense. You can move torque curve up or down the rpm scale but with our flat sixes, the curve peaks just off idle and is pretty flat to the top of the rpm range. Without adding bigger or more carbs, bumping compression and balancing for higher rpm operation, the stock ones should be fine.

I was under the impression that that the vpw cam had more lift (410)designed to work better with today's petrol giving you increases in torque and hp at the same rpm. granted bumming the compression by installing a car head or milling down your stock head is still the best $ to gains.

I have never used the VPW cam as I have a cam grinder here in WA. Delta Camshafts in Tacoma . They will grind it how ever you want. or just tell them what your doing and they will suggest one. big improvement over stock. I also recommend shaving .060 or more off stock head. The stock cam is designed for 70 octane fuel. so 89 octane is like race fuel for stock cam;. there is tons of room for improvement. a new cam and shaved head really makes the truck drive great!

Here are the Isky cam specs for the Dodge 230 flathead engine. This is the cam that Vintage Power Wagons is selling. It is a NOS cam that is reground by Iskenderian Racing Cams for them.
