Gear Shift Lever Question

Hi Folks,
I've just bought a 1952 M37 at an Auction.

It drives well, other than the gear shift lever simply sways back and forth.
I've read in a few threads that this might be due simply to a broken pin. ( I'm assuming it's like a set-pin )

Has anyone fixed it in the Cab as opposed to pulling the Transmission ?

I have a lot of work to do on her, but will start next year, so it would be nice to fix this one small issue.
:)

I fixed mine by pulling the center section of the floor and pulling the top cover of the transmission to deal with the pin. If you search you can find a number of posts on fixing the pin, easiest of which is to pick up a NOS cover. There's also some good info on the Steel Soldiers site on pin repair.

First check to see that the clamping action from the lever to the stub is good...sometimes it works loose and can get really sloppy.
