Radiator/Shroud Differences

After sending out my radiator for a recore I noticed my fan shroud was modified a bit. The very bottom was cut off with a torch (not so neatly) and the top was notched with shears to clear radiator neck. My question is are there slight differences in radiators, from let say, a M-37, a M-37B1 or maybe a civilian Power Wagon? Then again maybe the shroud isn't original.

Bill, the M37 and the M37B1 parts books show the same p/n for the radiator shroud. I'm not familiar enough with the FFPW to know differences in shrouds, but I don't think the FFPW radiator is close enough in dimensions to the G-741 trucks to allow shrouds to be swapped, even with modification.

The only shroud differences that I've seen on the M37 series is that the shroud was field modified for installation of the 100amp charging system, but the modifications don't match what you described.

Thanks Elwood, gotta compare when I get Radiator back. All seem to bolt up correctly. Maybe I can find a reason for the bottom torching. Maybe a plow mount of sorts. Either way it fits and works fine.

Bill, I'll back up what Elwood said. I have the 100 amp charging system on my truck and the radiator shroud was field modified by cutting off the lower lip that enclosed the fan making more room for the belts.

I can't think of any reason to alter the shroud as nothing else can really go into that space, there just isn't enough room. Can you post a couple of pictures??
