Does anyone have a picture of how the CCKW top inside liner fit? I'm trying to figure out the best way to put something in it and would like for it to at least resemble the original liner. I'm just not sure where to put seams or how many pieces it should be pieced in to make it fit right. I have looked at CCKW sites and to be honest... I don't think I saw a single CCKW with a top that looks like mine. They looked like they had a one piece hard cab or a rag top but I didn't see anything that looked like a soft stop retrofitted with a top like mine. Any guesses on what the color of the liner may have been? OD?

I have a CCKW top that came off of my truck, it has what I believe to be the original liner in it...
You know those army surplus sleeping pads, the ones at go underneath a sleeping bag? The lining feels and looks just like that. Appears to be foam, and glued.

I will be going by my parents later today, if somebody hasn't supplied a photo for you...I will do my best!

More pic's the merrier... I happen to have mine off and on the back frame of the truck... Looks like there are four pieces to mine top drivers,back drivers, top passenger, back passenger and the foam rubber goes over the part of the center rib that is spot welded to the roof... The foam rubber on mine is black...

^^^^That is EXACTLY the way mine is...except the foam is olive drab. Sorry I didn't post, didn't have anyone to help me flip it over!

A couple of my M37CDN factory tops have that material. It may have been an upgrade at rebuild as my other two trucks have the metal liner. The foam is a better fit because of the rusting with the metal liner caused by moisture trapped in the insulation. I think at one time, the foam went under the trade name Ensolite or something similar. It may still be available by that or under another trade name if you look hard enough.

Oddjob, thank you very much for providing the pictures. That is exactly what I needed to see.

I wasn't able to find anything like that material so I went to a local automotive upholstery shop and the guy said.... sure I can do it. Will cost 275.00. I didn't pay but 50 bucks for the top, I did put a layer of mat fiberglass inside after grinding out the rust. I thought the fiberglass would help with structure/moisture integrity and I recently had the rear window replaces at a local glass shop for 80.00 so I balked at the 275.00. I went on ebay and found a perforated vinyl with an acoustic foam backing that they advertised as being used in trucks and military vehicles. I got I think 5 yards which should be way more than I need shipped for something like 55 bucks. I just received it yesterday and hope to attempt install this weekend. I will take a few pics and hope to share on the board.
I plan on making a cardboard template so I cut it correctly the first time but I have never had a lot of luck with that type of stuff.

Post up a couple of pics once you have the material installed. The original type foam probably isn't available so finding something you like is a bonus. I have both foam liner and tin lined original tops on my M37CDNs. Not sure when they were changed from the metal lines to foam, maybe at a major rebuild?

Found some material over at MSC they charge by the foot... Not sure on the thickness that would be needed as I'm at work and not at home... So I figure about 3/8" thick... but they have it going from 1/8" to 3/4" that I saw...
