Hello, I am replacing the seat covers on my M soon. What is the easiest way to get the seat backs off? Thanks!

Well, the passenger seat should just lift vertically up, its held on by 2 loops over 2 tabs welded to tub. The drivers seat has a couple bolts you should be able to remove if you compress the seat bottom and look at bottom edge of seat back. This is unless yours was modified

Both drivers and passenger seat backs hook at the top and have two bolts at the bottom.
Driver seat bottom has two bolt underneath in front
The recover is pretty straight forward.

On this topic...can anyone show how the passenger seat bottom is supposed to stay in position? My truck came to me half dilapidated, I cant figure it out!

I can't post a picture, but on my trucks, there is a stud on the front passenger side corner that fits into a matching hole in the plywood and the latch on the front of the seat to hold it in place. Maybe someone else can post a picture to show what and where. If yours has nothing left, it would be easy to figure out something similar.

I know exactly what you are talking about and my truck didn't have one on either side.

Well timing is everything-I was just posting my front clip pictures and saw this post so I headed to the garage and snapped this one-mine has a single stud (top of photo), and the latch in front.

Thanks! I have that little latch...it just presses into the bottom on the seat cushion then? I will have to see what I can do when the seat gets back from being re-covered. I worry my seat bottom may be too worn out!

No, there is a little metal latch attached to the seat bottom that the spring clip looks onto. I don't have one so I can't post a picture.
