steering play

Greetings. New owner/member here. I'm going through my 1952 unrestored M37. 15,000 miles on odometer, engine rebuild 1,000 miles ago. Just finished changing all fluids and greasing chassis points. Will start surveying brake system soon.
My question: it has 11 degrees of steering play, what is the steering play tolerance? I've read thru the manual and have learned the steering adjustment/checkpoints and how to make corrections but I don't know if I need to being currently at 11 degrees. Thanks. These forums are wonderful.

I would think that 11degreas of slop in the box is on the tight side :P for a worm and peg  my so called professionally rebuilt box has 9 deg with 1000ml of wear and I can feel the tiers scrubbing at 20deg

Welcome Hogtied! Glad to have you with us! I'd say 11 degrees isn't bad-beats the 120 degrees I had to deal with when I bought mine-ended up swapping the entire steering box.
