My Brothers M37 and his Brakes are Going on.

I've started back in the dirty gritty process of installing the brakes on my brothers M37. This after I finished off most of the electrical work. I ordered the wheel cylinders from two different suppliers. Had heard there were some differences in manufactures, but found both supplies are now using the same manufacture. http://m37.wawii.com/DLW-80049099/InitialRepairs.shtml

Thanks for the info. Are those wheel cylinders foreign made?

Thanks

I see that you painted the wheel cylinders, good idea Will, some installers I have seen often fail to do this with rust being the result of this little, often overlooked job.

Mike, no markings to indicate where its made, bu I think Charles said the new supplier is, but don't quote me on that.

Carter, Thanks, yea I have a tendency to perhaps over clean and paint, but I just can't see putting on raw bear steel parts on.

3 out of 4 done, just waiting on wheel bearings and seal to finish the last one before I replace the master cylinder and bleed and do final adjustments.

Any special paint on those wheels? How much did you prep them? I want to paint my chipped and rusty rims and have been looking for ideas on what to do. I tend to over think the work needed to be done, considering the truck is not ever going to be a show truck

Yep, New Star is foreign-made-China I believe, as i recall seeing something to this effect when I installed my last wheel cylinder.

ZGjethro, The camera hides a lot here, the only prep was a good degreaser power wash and a bath in break cleaner. Then light coats before a final heaver coat. In person you can see all the ships and layers of paint. The intent here was to give a more consistent color and protect the bare metal.
