Hey Carter....
I did a basic mount up of the Clark Mast and took it to the Vintage Machinery Weekend at Sassafras, my signal was 5x9 into the repeater and the Sunday news broadcast switching went without a hitch. I still have to make the guying system for when the wind gets too strong for free support, I'll fit it properly and make the new roof feedthrough system now I know it's successful and I may make it sit a little lower to decrease the overall protrusion from the roof. What do you think??

Good job Tony, where did you find that monster mast, it's much taller than I thought and what do you plan on using for the guy system?
Thanks for posting the shots and your truck disserves much praise as the build you have done on it is outstanding. :D

Thanks guys, it's going to make the comms truck build a hell of a lot more versatile. The mast is an ex-air services unit kindly supplied by my friend Peter, all I had to do was polish the bores a little, find the seals for it and make a mess with a combination if silicon grease and silicon spray to assemble it (really messy if it gets on anything). The guy system will be ground mount independant as I will put 2 loops on the opposite side of the truck and at opposite ends and make a pull out outrigger arm to tie off to that will be on the same side as the mast and almost paralell to it on the bodywork. Once I have built the new feedthrough system for the roof of the truck then I can finish installing the mast permanently. I do have the interior build to crack on with, I will find myself some steel panelling and separate the front from the rear sections soon too but that's another story.....
I hope Winter has eased it's grip on you guys :D

Hi Tony,

This winter has not yet released it's grip on our area, I measured 18" of snow on the flat area of our back yard and we have broken records with the amount of days below 0*F. I managed to to get my M1009 stuck on the ice and snow covered backyard.

I hope that you keep posting more pictures of your project here.

MM,

That looks great and fits the truck. Just got to paint it OD. I once built a mobile repeater with a GI crank up tower on 1/4 ton trailer so mobile coms always makes me happy. When you get to the interior take lots of pictures...you know we all like pictures.
