Thanks Kaegi!

For those looking online at Napaonline.com it' part number "UP 1" and comes up as "Brake Master Cylinder Kit" and goes for around $18 bucks.

correct the UP stands for United Products. I think the Rayubestos number is MK 1 for master cylinder kit. but 1 will find it. ;/) many share the same number system with different lettering in all brake brake parts.

Thanks K. But next time I'm in NAPA and the dumb-ass kid behind the counter asks me what I need............I'm going to say part number 1. Just to see that confused expression come over his face along with the blank stare. Me and him got a relationship like that. :D

Although, if he were smart he'd know by how to walk in the back when he see's me coming in the front door. Lucky for me he's not that bright. Or is that un-lucky for me? Hmmmmmm.

bob

I feel your pain bob. We had a "old school" NAPA up here that recently closed :( Had computers but the old staff kept the books on hand and all of em were car guys and knew there stuff. With much frustration with my local stores and its staff, I would often make the 35 mile trek to see them knowing that they would bail me out.

Now that they closed, I pretty much go to my local store with a part number and say my vehicle type is not in your computer!!

Hey VT,

Ya know.....I'm being way to cynical regarding the pimple faced kid behind the counter. I was him once. At that age he can't possibly know about part numbers from 60 years ago, nor could I back in the day. It's just that I'm cresting 50 and can see "old man" from here........and not liking it. Things were certainly different back then, the attitude when you walked into a parts store was to get your problem fixed no matter how many phone calls it took or even calling different competing auto parts stores. Now if they can't find it on the first try in the computer it just doesn't exist.....and they have no sympathy for your situation.

The world is a constantly changing place.......and older folks don't like change. But I'm still going down to NAPA and asking for part #1.

regards,
bob

Yep which reminds me that I have a couple MC's that need to be gone through and one of them needs to be installed in a 2nd M-37.
