M43 question

So I finally started tinkering on my M43 and noticed a small hole in the carb base venting smoke after shutdown, hole looks to be in line with the adjusting screw in the base and in about 3/4" of an inch, my M37 doesnt have this, it looks factory but i want to make sure as it seems odd. Ive look at some TMs but the pics are way to blurry to make anything out.

If you can me give a manual number and page number I'll see if I can post a clearer pic.

TM 9-2320-212-20 has a few pics from page 100 to 103 I believe but im not sure they are the right angle even if they are clearer, I didnt see any pics in the other TMs that would be helpful but I may have missed some, these are the TMs from steel soldiers.
