Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone has installed TWO sets of seat belts for the passenger seat on the M-37??? I have one set installed out of a M-35 but with the arrival of my 2nd daughter, I need to plan the installation of a 2nd set for her car seat. My wife brought it up as she was talking to our peditritian who as seen my daughter and I in the M-37. I told her that will take some engineering but the easy route is just intall a set on the other M-37 and she can drive that with my 2nd daughter :D Her response was pretty much

I installed two seat belts for my passenger seat. The outboard strap is mounted to the floor at the back of the cab, near the passenger door. For the other three the rail that runs underneath the back of the passenger seat bottom is two flimsy to hold them, and it seemed that this rail might cut on them if I went down to the floor with the straps. So I had pieces of metal welded between that rail and a horizontal support that runs along the back of the cab a few inches behind and below the passenger seat bottom. The remaining three straps are mounted on these pieces of metal, one at the end nearest the drivers seat and two towards the middle. For the two towards the middle I mounted them crossed, with the one for the middle passenger more towards the passenger door and the one for the outboard passenger more towards the driver's seat. I did it this way because otherwise it seemed as though the outboard position would be too narrow for a full-sized adult. When in use the crossing isn't really noticeable.

No far, luckily, this system has not been crash-tested. I cannot claim that it works, so use caution.

(PS Sorry for my delay in responding. My truck was at a friends place and I wanted to check on what had been done before I replied.)
