In keeping with me never doing anything the easy way, though possibly cheaper way, would one of the CUCV 6.2s fit in the engine bay?

I like the idea of this because I know where I can get a pulled one at in PA for the ballpark of $800 for the complete engine and harness.

Anyone done this one?

Yes it fits just fine. Naturally Aspirated will fit with little or no modification. It you put a turbo on you will need to modify. If you put the side mounted turbo on you'll need to modify the passenger side fender. If you put the rear mounted turbo on then you will need to modify the fire wall. A 6.5 will fit also with no problem.

I found a picture of a 6.2 install but for the life of me I can't find it now.

Here is my project with a 6.2 with turbo on it.

Thanks for the info and link! Question though, which axles did you swap in and how did you over come the narrowness of the front frame?

I'm looking at spending the money for CUCV 1-ton axles versus the myriad of little nickel dime things the stock ones are going to throw at me.

I used axles off of a Dodge M880 (W200) 1.25 ton truck. I measured 10 times welded twice...LOL. I just moved the passenger side leaf spring to the outside of the frame. If you go to the link you should be able to go back other pages and see all I've done so far. So much more to do so little time....

Doesn't look the bad to fab up. Now I just need to find a flywheel and clutch to get my price tally for this conversion.

Would anyone know how to keep the stock pedals with this conversion
