One of the guys posted a link on another site vis-a-vis 900-16R Chinese knock-off Michelins. Apparently someone is importing them nto the US. There is a similar tire/tyre available from an Indian mfg. for those of you on that little continent down there.

Hmmm......I can't put my finger on it.....but something about Chinese tires (tyres) on an American military vehicle that might have served in Korea just doesn't sound right.

I would only point out that the printing on the Chinese tyres is in English. You may draw any inference from that which best suits you.

The importer is located in North Vancouver, BC. He posted on Craigs List looking for interest a few months ago. I spoke with him and at the time, he was bringing over 400 tires with flaps and tubes. I have my own opinions about some Chinese rubber, but lots of major brand names now come from over there. If I get over there soon, I was planning to have a look at them. I'm not sure if he decided to ship some across the border but that would make it easier to sell in the US. I rather like the Michelins but at over $500 each, they are not coming to my garage any time soon.
If anyone is looking for a good deal on a US M37 less body with new Michelins, check out Craigs List for Comox Valley, here in B.C. There are also parts for sale but the body went onto a Dodge P.U. resto mod.

Hey....I'm just funnin' with you guys. Nowadays it's pretty hard to find anything not made in China.....and some of it is pretty good stuff.
I'm not criticizing anyone either way. I was just a little bored sitting at my desk today and thought I'd "spice up the pot" a little bit to see if anyone was paying attention.
You guys have a great night...and an even better Memorial Day weekend (for those of you in the States). For the rest of you.....have a great weekend too!
regards,
bob

Chinese tires huh, I had trouble with the idea that the Denmans I bought several years ago were made in Mexico and were being installed on a US made truck but I went ahead and did it however I would never put Chinese tires on it!

Between the two of us we could really stir things up

. Perhaps by pointing out, that the ownership of Dodge by way of Chrysler has now passed through the hands of two of the Axis powers of WWII.
But seriously if we can't get over long standing feuds with other countries we'll end up like the stone age Afghanies.
It does not mean however that we shouldn't recognize the sacrifices made by our fighting men and women and those who support them at home.
Have a great Memorial Day everyone.
