Hi Bob,
Yes, and they were grey.

But not all of the Navy M37s were gray. Some (all?) of the SeaBee units were OD. And of course, the Marine M37s were green.

My unit was/is a Navy rig, always been OD, except when it was a red & silver fire truck.

OK, maybe I should have said "and SOME of them were grey"
My Airforce M37 was originally Strata Blue, with OD shot over the blue. Times and needs change, and so do the colors.

I was told that mine was an Air force unit transferred to the army. It is Olive on top of blue, you can see the blue where the green is peeling. The wheels were yellow, and I am told that this means it was a line truck on the runway. Can anyone confirm whether the yellow wheels mean that it was used on the runways?

Sounds right to me, most/some of the tailgates had black/yellow checkerboard as well as the "Follow Me" on the tail gate.
I spent 4 years active AF and another 3 plus active reserve, 175th MDANG, Jim Palmer was our Ace Pilot.
