Coolant tube Q?

On the front face of the block there are 2 holes for the water pump. Facing the block, there is an oblong hole that looks like a return on the drivers side. Then there is a tear drop shaped hole on the pass side. I can see a liner/pipe in the same shape which I assume is the coolant pipe? Given it looks like it has a small bend, there is no way it looks like it pulls out. Mine does not look rusty inside. Is there a way to inspect without pulling it? Also, someone was going to look for their source for replacement tubes, it would be good to have a spare b/4 I monkey with it.

The tube should have no bend, it's a straight tapered piece that gets smaller toward the back of the block. Simply grasp it & pull it straight out. If you are having a problem sliding it straight forward & out of the block, there is some sort of problem that needs addressing, most likely interior block corrosion. The holes toward the back of the tube are very small with a high likelyhood of being stopped up. Don't for go pulling it out whatever it takes. I think VPW has some new ones for around $50.

That coolant tube insures that cooled water gets all the way to the back of the block evenly. If its left out or has corroded away overheating will result. All the chrysler flat sixes used them.
