Planning to replace my M37 brake lines. I believe that they are 5/16" - am I correct? Any thoughts on using pre-bent vs. making my own?

I got the pre bent set from Vintage Power Wagons.

They are made REALLY nicely, pretty easy to install. Just plan on doing a tiny bit of bending here or there to make them fit perfectly to your truck.

I would go pre bent again...saves so much time

Go with pre bent if your changing all of them!!! I got mine back in the day from George at Army Jeep Parts and it was pretty close and it was not a problem to make it go. If your doing a restoration, Its a definate YES. If your only planning on changing one?? Sure go with a section from NAPA but I brake with the piece of mind that my new lines do not have a weak spot where the mud stayed between the spring for 45 years and is ready to blow at any moment.

Though I do have some straight sections from NAPA as spares just incase I do have a incident where I brake one.

If you go with a pre-formed set; be sure that you get specifics from the supplier about what type of tubing was used. There is some Chinese junk out there being sold under the cover of American made, pre-bent or pre-formed. Pre-formed is still junk if that is what it is made from. If the supplier couldn't furnish me solid info that I felt was valid, I'd simply move along. You can buy top quality tubing; forming your own isn't that big a deal.
