I bought the red truck from a rural fire dept in Wa. state during a sealed bid auction in May 2012. I paid $1100.00 with the intention of using it as a parts truck. However I found that this truck is really complete and I just can't bring myself to ruining it. The yellow truck is a B1 model I bought yesterday from a guy down the road from me. This truck had been sitting next to his shop since 1996 when he bought it from the rural fire dept down the road from us. I've known about the truck for the past 6+ years. A co-worker recently bought the house next door and I asked him last year to ask his neighbor what he was going to do with the truck. I just found out last week that the guy was willing to sell it. He wanted $1K but I got him to drop down to $800.00. The truck is complete and still 24 v but a 12v conversion was done on the ignition system. I have added the red truck to the registry and will add the yellow truck once I have the information. I'll have to determine the date of delivery because there is no information other than the serial number. I'm going to make a trip to the fire dept and see if I can get some info.

Have you ever wondered if these monsters fit on a Uhaul trailer? Well here is the proof. I towed it over 200 miles without a problem.

The guy had an extra axle he gave me with the deal. Looks like someone broke into it because it was partially disassembled. I chained the extra axle to the trucks front axle, all though it looks like I just blocked it.


I think one of my trailer tires needs air.

Nice score....times two! That red truck looks super straight! Post the SN's and I can tell you what month and year they were made. Or if you don't want to post them (not sure why some people fear sharing that info, but hey) just send them via PM.

Looks like the serial number on the data plate of the yellow truck is bogus. Its a 800XXXXXX series number so I'll have to chemically strip the spot on the frame that has the number. How hard is it to find the spare tire carriers? Also anyway to tell by looking at the top to know if it is an original? It does have the sliding rear window if that matters. The red truck was listed on craislist last summer as a sealed bid auction. Minimum bid was 1k.

Okay the frame number is the same as the data plate which is a 800 series. I'm guessing that the original m37 cab was replaced with a B1 cab. I find it hard to believe that the rural volunteer fire department would go through the expense of swaping out a cab. Well if the cab was changed out I'm going to go with the frame serial number which puts it as a 1953. Other than the spare tire carrier on the door, what other noticable changes were made?
